A Place to Bury Strangers, Last Night At Doug Fir

I went to check out, A Place to Bury Strangers, Monday night at the Doug Fir. I heard the light show was impressive and it was. But that's about all I, personally, was impressed with.

The The Portland Mercury had a blurb about them coming to town: "Holders of the title of New York City's loudest band—for simply noise; they make carefully organized, spine-tingling rock with an instantly familiar, cool vocal style. Also, they frequently perform in front of projected videos of explosions and stuff, so that's always fun."

And it was.

But with electro-beats, loud rock guitar and the style of singing, it was too much to take in. They might be the NYC's "loudest band" but that doesn't make them fun to listen or dance to. Hard to follow.
